What to Expect from a Duct Cleaning Service

When you book a duct cleaning service, trained technicians will thoroughly clean the supply and return air ducts, registers, grilles, and related components of your heating and cooling system. Using high-powered vacuums, brushes, and air tools, they remove built-up dust, debris, pet hair, mold, and allergens that may be circulating through your home or business.

The process typically includes:

  • A message the day before to confirm the appointment

  • A full walk thru of the home to identify each area being serviced

  • A full inspection of the ductwork and HVAC system

  • Cleaning of all accessible ducts, vents, and returns

  • Removal of dirt, dust, and contaminants using negative air pressure and compressed air whips

  • Optional add-ons like sanitizing, dryer vent cleaning, or ductwork repairs

  • A final system check to ensure everything is running smoothly

Residential New Construction Packages

1. Furnace start up

$215

This package is for brand new construction only.

Furnace has not been used, or just recently used for the first time. This cleaning is to remove construction debris that may have fallen into vents during home building.

2. Furnace & Ducts

This package is for brand new construction only.

Cleaning of furnace and all ducting. This includes the duct mains, supply branches and return lines. This cleaning is for homes that used the furnace as heat during construction. It is a more thorough cleaning to remove all construction dust inside the ductwork and the furnace. Included in this package is duct sanitizing as construction odours will remain in the system without it.

Hello there, my name is Jakob and I am owner/operator of Square One Ventilation. I am a father of 2 children and live a blended family life with 3 bonus step children. I began my career in the ventilation industry in 2010 shortly after completing high school in 2008. My career began at a company called Great West Ventilation working on commercial and industrial projects. After registering as an apprentice in 2010, working in the field installing duct work and in the shop fabricating it, I developed a wide range of skills and began taking on small projects of my own. My journey through the apprenticeship program brought me to many different employers over the years. These employers had me working on countless projects across Manitoba. A few notable ones were the IKEA build, True North Square towers 1 and 2, Winnipeg Transit rapid transit overpass and a large dust collection system at Kitchen Craft. Finally in 2021 I finished my apprenticeship and collected my Red Seal Certification.

Being self employed has been the goal of mine since the beginning, but the timing was never right and I felt there was always too great a risk. With my kids growing and becoming young adults, I feel it’s more important now than ever to take this step in my career and prove that if you set your mind to something, anything is possible.
